Tsurphu Monastery

 Tsurphu Monastery was found by the first Karmapa Dusum Kyenpa in 1189 at 80 years of age. He is one of the students of Gampopa, the main disciple of Milarepa. Tsurphu has located about 80 km in the hills of the northwest of Lhasa.

Tsurphu Monastery is the main monastery of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism.
