Shalu Monastery
Sherap Jungne founded Shalu Monastery in the 11th century, but it was expanded in the 14th century by the famous Tibetan Buddhist scholar Buton Rinchen Drupa. He is considered one of the three outstanding Tibet philosophers, along with Sakya Pandita and Master Tsongkhapa.
At his time, the Buddha’s oral teaching was already set as a series of 108 volumes called the “kangyur”. Still, the various commentaries were not put in a systematic collection. https://www.nomadictibet.com/shalu-monastery/
